HIS review
I have to start off by saying that this film may well be hit or miss, as HER review below will show. You will either find it difficult to get into the story, or you will lose yourself in it. I was the latter. I couldn’t help but want more as we become emersed with the happenings of this small, pre-WWI German village. This is a surprisingly dark film, yet you urge the narrator to continue through his story, as you are left thinking the worst in people after seeing some of the grotesque things they are capable of. This is no regular whodunnit though, as we get closer to discovering who is responsible for these random acts of punishment. One thing is for sure – this is a story worth telling.

HER review
Boring! To be fair, I fell asleep too many times during this movie to be able to give it a proper review but every time I opened my eyes there was nothing happening… I’m sure the long pauses without movement or sound added to the emotional effect, so too was the excruiating shouting, crying or whistling in parts, but to me it was just like a bad dream that I wanted to end, quickly!
