Sydney Film Festival 2010 Preview

The 57th Annual Sydney Film Festival (SFF) 2010 is currently in production, kicking off on 2 June until closing on 14 June. The program already has a number of confirmed screenings but the big announcements are due on 7 May when seats go on sale.
As in previous years SFF is divided into ‘pathways’ which give you an idea of what to expect from the program. This year’s theme is ‘Unleashed’ and includes eight pathways – Fire Me Up, Freak Me Out, Love Me, Make Me Laugh, Push Me To The Edge, Take Me On A Journey, Sounds On Screen, Creative Drive.
Australian premieres for Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer, Banksy’s Exit Through the Gift Shop and Floria Sigismondi’s The Runaways feature in the program. Other films include Oscar-nominated documentary The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers; local thriller The Loved Ones; Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love, starring Tilda Swinton; Woody Harrelson’s Oscar-nominated performance in The Messenger; the Duplass brothers comedy Cyrus, starring John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei and Catherine Keener; and Benoit Delpine and Gustave de Kervern’s follow-up to Louise-Michel, Mammuth, starring Gerard Depardieu.
