Bunny and the Bull - Movie Review

Bunny and the Bull follows Stephen and Bunny as they leave the dull routine of life in England behind and embark on an extraordinary odyssey where imagination is the only limit. Journeying from the industrial wastelands of Silesia to the bull fields of Andalusia, their adventures brings them into contact with a Polish dog farmer, a moustachioed matador and a hot-tempered crab waitress who soon tests how far their friendship really goes. {official site}

HIS review
You will have a much better chance of enjoying this movie if you have seen (and like) The Mighty Boosh, however, as in my case this isn’t a guarantee. Brought to us by the same director, you have to prepare yourself for quite an inventive tale. The production design for this movie is simply amazing and really makes you believe you’re in some sort of weird dream. Unfortunately the film doesn’t do it justice. The comedy just isn’t there, except for the phrase ‘are you f*@king my face?!’ and a sickening scene involving drinking milk from the teats of a dog. What is a relatively decent story – with some nice cameos from Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh) and Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd) – unfortunately doesn’t hold strong enough to make the imaginary journey worthwhile.
