Scott Pilgrim must defeat his new girlfriend’s seven evil exes in order to win her heart. {official site}
HIS review
Very different to Edgar Wright‘s previous accomplishments (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is an entertaining movie that relies a little less on the storyline and a little more on… being cool (in a geeky way). Despite the quick cuts between scenes (which are very well done), the beginning of the film goes a little slow for me, as I began to wonder how on earth he was going to defeat 7 exes without having yet met the first. It’s when we meet the exes that the film wows, with excellent fight scenes that truly make you feel like you’re in a video game. I have to say, I personally want every one of the t-shirts Scott Pilgrim wears in this movie, very cool. Be sure to check out the interactive trailer!

HER review
I was in two minds whether or not I would enjoy this film. Turns out I did! Obviously the storyline is weak but the effects more than make up for it. I really loved the video game references & sounds and comic book humour. I still remain unconvinced by Michael Cera, he’s yet to impress me but there are some scenes that suit him in this film. I also thought it went quite slow to start with and I was getting worried that we were going to be there all night, but then it speeded up dramatically leading to the ultimate fight scene at the end! I think it kicked-ass more than Kick-Ass!!
