HIS review
The Prestige takes magic and makes it cool, but not in a cheesy David Blayne way. What we have here is a twisted love medley and fierce rivalry between two magicians at the turn of the century fighting for fame and revenge, by hook or by crook. Christopher Nolan again excels in his story telling, with an impressive cast. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are brilliant as rivals with two very different backgrounds. The supporting cast made up by Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall are brilliant, it’s hard to call them supporting as they more than help make this an impressive movie. David Bowie even makes an appearance as the inventor Tesla. The Prestige’s strength lies in the relationships and passion of the lead characters, not only towards magic, but to the people around them, and the constant juggle of what is more important. A story filled with many twists and turns, some expected, some not, you shouldn’t let this movie pass you by… make sure you are watching closely!

HER review
How to make magician’s look cool! Hugh Jackman was solid as usual but as much as I usually love Christian Bale, I thought his English accent was a little false and like he was trying too hard. It was an interesting concept and fascinating to see how Robert and Alfred’s rivalry plays out with a good twist at the end (that I didn’t see coming!). There was a cheeky little appearance by David Bowie – I was not expecting that!! And it was good to see Andy Serkis as himself rather than a fantasy character.
