Two men fortify a nondescript British apartment so it can serve as a prison, and then kidnap a woman and tie her to a bed. Before there’s even time to react, we’re plunged into a very nasty situation, but not a simple one. {official site}
HIS review
The Disappearance of Alice Creed is an intriguing kidnapping thriller with enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. With only three actors in the entire movie, a lot relies on their performances. Luckily the performances are strong enough to carry the film through, especially those of the two male leads. The plot can take some odd turns at times and can sometimes be a little far fetched, but overall this is a very clever little movie.

HER review
I’d heard a fair bit about this film before we watched it so I knew the premise of the story was that Alice was kidnapped. I wasn’t however, prepared for the twists and turns that this film takes. Without giving too much away there were a few “woah, where did that come from…” moments! What’s interesting about this film is that there is only 3 people actually in it for the whole 96 minutes, this actually makes it a pretty intense film. The stand out for me was the performance of Eddie Marsan as Vic, he just fitted the role so perfectly. Gemma Aterton was a little bit of a let down as I don’t think she played a raw enough character and the pouting got a bit much in the end!! Overall I think it made me squirm and feel uncomfortable enough to say that it was successful at what it was trying to achieve.
